Water Sports optional cover is designed to help protect selected water sports equipment, equipment hire, unused boat hire fees, passes, lessons and excursions while travelling.

Water Sports Equipment includes

Water Sports Equipment includes snorkelling and scuba diving apparatus and accessories, surfboards, boogie boards and toboggans, water skis, boots and bindings, wetsuits and specialised clothing for use in water sports and activities.

The equipment can be your own equipment that you take with you, or equipment you hire on the trip, subject to the PDS.

Water sports as an activity

Many recreational water activities are automatically listed as covered sport and leisure activities under the policy.

These include activities such as surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, stand up paddle boarding, swimming, jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing and boardsailing, subject to the relevant terms, conditions and exclusions.

Water Sports optional cover is designed for the water sports-specific benefits, including equipment, hire costs, unused boat hire fees, passes, lessons and excursions.

When the optional cover matters

You are travelling with your own water sports equipment
You have prepaid boat hire, passes, lessons or excursions
You may need to hire replacement equipment if your gear is delayed
You want water sports-specific cover shown on your Certificate of Insurance

Things to know before you travel

Like all travel insurance, Water Sports optional cover has limits, conditions and exclusions.

Water Sports optional cover is subject to the same conditions and exclusions as the Personal Property section of the policy, except where amended by the Water Sports section.

There is no cover for loss, theft or damage to Water Sports Equipment aged over five years, equipment carried on a vehicle roof rack, or Water Sports Equipment while in use.

Some activities, higher-risk variations, competitions, organised expeditions or activities outside the standard policy terms may need to be declared and accepted by Go Insurance before cover applies.
