A Target Market Determination (TMD) is a document that outlines the class of consumers for which a product has been designed. It assists distributors in understanding to whom the product is intended to be distributed.
The preparation of a TMD forms part of the design and distribution obligations for a product. It outlines distribution conditions and restrictions as well as reporting requirements for distributors.
A TMD is not a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) or policy wording. It does not provide a full summary of the product features or applicable terms and conditions.
